What is Bike Oxford?

Bike Oxford is a bike rental service available to students, faculty and staff. Bike Oxford offers bikes, helmets, and bike locks for free, on a first come first serve basis. We support those who chose to use bikes to cycle to work and around the campus and community.

Bikes are checked out to participants for 5 days and should be returned by the due date. Any bikes not returned by the due date will access a late fee of $10 for each day late. Once the bike is checked out, the renter becomes responsible for the equipment. Any damages done to bike will be charged to the OPUS account of the renter. Theft of the bicycle due to failure to properly secure the bike at a bike rack will result in a replacement cost charged to the OPUS account of the renter.

Campus Bike Parking Rules

Bicycles should only be secured to designated bike racks.

Bicycles secured in any way to objects other than designated bike racks or blocking ADA access will be removed and impounded. This includes:

a.)Railings, handrails, and guardrails, especially those railings or other objects that may be required by persons with mobility impairments.

b.)Areas that restrict egress for life safety purposes or in any area that would impede or restrict pedestrian or vehicular traffic

An impound retrieval fee may be charged.

The University is not responsible for damage to locking devices that require removal because they are secured to objects other than designated bike racks or are abandoned. If the bicycle is registered with Emory Police, the owner will be contacted.

Impounded bicycles will be held for thirty (30) days, after which the bicycles will be recycled.
