Cody Lu CHL Student Athlete of The Month for October 2019

The Center for Healthful Living (CHL) has recognized Cody Lu of the women’s tennis team as the October Student Athlete of the Month. This award recognizes a student athlete's commitment to the motto of the CHL: Educate the Mind and Exercise the Body.

Lu is from Johns Creek, GA and is currently undecided for her major. She is a two-year member for the women’s tennis team and was named team captain this year. As a freshman, Lu competed in first doubles and second singles and was instrumental in helping the Eagles win their fourth straight National Championship. She was also named a first team All-American for both doubles and singles. This year as a sophomore, she has earned her way to competing in first singles and continues to play first doubles. She looks to lead the Eagles to another National Championship this November.

Lu also excels in the classroom as she was awarded with the highest GPA on the team during her freshman year. On top of that, she was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second-Team last year.

When she is not busy studying or playing tennis, Lu volunteers at the PAWS shelter on the weekends, where she helps clean the shelter and spend quality time with the animals that are there. She is also helps out with the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North (ACCCN) where she assists in missions trips and retreats, as well as ways to serve the community.

We are proud to recognize the October Student Athlete of the Month, Cody Lu.
