Eagles Thrive Against Georgia Military Reserves

The Oxford women's soccer team had a wonderful match against the Georgia Military College Reserves that finished in a 6 goal victory. After a 10 day break inbetween games, the Eagles looked like they did not skip a beat with an early 13th minute goal by Sade Hanciles off of a corner kick. Tejan Singh followed those with back-to-back goals in the 16th and 18th minutes of the game. After that followed another duo of goals from Nadia Dixon in the 24th and 29th minutes. Hunter Alspaugh finished the barrage of goals with a 40th minute free kick from 40 yards out.

Coach Tinna Gallagher had this to say about her team's performance, "I am very pleased with the team´s performance. We kept the ball well within the team and the movement of the ball was good. We were able to put the game away early which was our goal. We had plenty of opportunities in the second half but we were unable to score. The GMC reserved team never gave up so we will give them credit for that."

The women's soccer team will face the GMC Reserves again on Thursday, September 21 at 6:45 pm. Go Eagles!
