Sophomores Sean Wickham and Robbie Wainio recorded a game-high 22 points as the Oxford basketball team posted a 76 to 56 win over Concordia College. The Eagles notched their third victory of the season.
Wickham produced a double-double with 22 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks, while Wainio came off the beach to chalk up 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Freshman point guard Ryan Kwong continued his hot shooting from the three point line making three of five attempts for 14 points.
The Eagles defense held Concordia to 27.5 percent (22 of 80) on the night. Oxford held a 57 to 46 rebounding advantage.
“We did a great job of playing sound fundamental defense tonight,” commented head coach Roderick Stubbs.
Oxford returns to action on Monday, December 4, 2017 when it plays at Oglethorpe University JV. Game time is set for 7:00pm. This will be the last game of the first semester. Go Eagles!
