Eagles 2nd Half Comeback Effort Not Enough versus West Georgia Technical College

In a game of two halves, your Oxford College Eagles fall short to conference rival West Georgia Technical College Golden Knights by a score of 80 to 73. The loss dropped the Eagles to 0-3 in conference play and 10-14 overall for the season.

The Eagles saw the Golden Knight dump out to a 46 to 33 lead at intermission as they controlled play in the 1st half of action.  The second half was a total contrast, as the Eagles controlled play and tied the game up with 8 minutes remaining in the game.  After that it was a back and forth affair, with the Eagles leading by as many as three on two occasions.

Leading the way for the Eagles was Ryan Kwong (Freshman/San Ramon, CA) with a great shooting night making six of seven  attempts and was three of four from 3 point range for 15 points.  Sean Wickham(Sophomore, Monroe, NC) produced 15 points along with 7 rebounds.  Seb Mosso(Sophomore, Atlanta, GA) poured in 14 points with a team leading 8 boards and Zane Patel(Freshman, Johns Creek, GA) garnered  12 points and 5 rebounds.

Joe Boyer(GCAA player of the year candidate for the Golden Knights) had an impressive game with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

Both teams did not shoot a good percentage from the field as Oxford shot 40.3 percent and the Golden Knights shot 41.3 percent.

The Eagles are right back to action as they play a highly talented Middle Georgia Prep team on Thursday at home.  Game time is set for 7:30pm.
