Men’s Basketball Drops Tough One to LaGrange College Reserve Squad 85 to 71

The Oxford men's basketball team suffered a tough home loss to the LaGrange College Reserve Squad 85 to 71 on Monday night.

The Panthers build and early first half lead and went into intermission leading 43 to 37.  The Panthers started the 2nd half out on a 10 to 2 run to take a 53 to 39 advantage and never looked back.  The Eagles twice cut the lead to 8 points but just could not capitalize and get any closer.

The Eagles were led by Sophomore Captain Kyle Brown, who tallied 20 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Freshman guard Ryan Kwong garnered 16 points while knocking down 4 of 7 from three point range.

LaGrange shot 52.5 percent from the field for the game, while Oxford sank just 40.4 percent of their field goal attempts.

The Eagles next contest is on the road in Griffin, GA versus Southern Crescent Technical College. Tipoff is set for 7:30pm.
