Oxford Drops First Game of The Season at Flyer Invitational

HIGHLIGHTS

Pinehurst, NC – The Oxford Men's Basketball team lost to Sandhills Community College 89-78. This completed their 2 game road trip in North Carolina, where they competed in the Flyer Invitational held at Sandhills CC. With this loss, the Eagles drop to 4-1 for the season. 

The Eagles were led by freshman JJ Halaby who had 36 points and went 10 of 10 from the charity stripe. Sophomore captain Ryan Kwong scored 19 points while making 4 three pointers. Fellow sophomore Eric Lee had 8 points and freshman Jermon Clark had 8 points and 8 rebounds. 

"We played a tough team in Sandhills and our guys played hard throughout the game. We just came up a little short today," said Head Coach Roderick Stubbs. "We will learn from this game and use it to get better the rest of the season." 

The Eagles will return home on Monday, November 12th against Emmanuel College Reserve Squad. Tipoff will be at 7:30 PM. During halftime, the Men's Tennis Team will have their ring ceremony for winning the National Championship this past season.
