Stubbs Gets 200th Win In Matchup Against Covenant College

Oxford, GA – Emory Oxford uses a strong second half to defeat Covenant College 92-78. This win marks Roderick Stubbs' 200th career victory as the Head Coach for the Men's Basketball Team. The Eagles also improve to 9-2 for the season and remain perfect at home.

The Eagles had 4 players in double figures and were led by guard duo JJ Halaby and Ryan Kwong who each had 21 points. Halaby also finished with a career-high 11 assists. Freshman Jermon Clark had a solid night with 16 points while shooting 7 of 10 from the field. Sophomore captain Zane Patel produced a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The Eagles went on the attack in the first half building an early 16-point lead. Unfortunately, the Scots used 10 first-half three pointers to cut the lead down to 6 before going into halftime.

In the second-half, the Eagles used a 15-0 run to build their largest lead of the game (26). The Scots were only held to 2 three-pointers in the second half. Emory Oxford took care of the ball only turning the ball over 11 times the entire game. They also took control of the paint scoring 54 of their 92 points inside.

"It was a great team win tonight. All of our guys competed well and it feels great to get that 200th win," stated Head Coach Roderick Stubbs. Stubbs is the winningest coach in Emory Oxford's history.

The Eagles will return to action on Monday, December 3rd, against Georgia Gwinnett College. The game will be held at Williams Gym and it will be the inaugural "white-out" game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
