Emory Oxford Men’s Basketball Loses To West Georgia

Oxford, GA – In their first conference game of the year, the Emory Oxford men's basketball team lost to West Georgia Technical College 81-79. This drops the Eagles to 15-6, while the Golden Knights improve to 9-8.

The Eagles had three players in double figures with first-year JJ Halaby leading the way with 29 points. Sophomore captain Zane Patel scored 23 points and co-captain Ryan Kwong scored 14 points to round up the night for the Eagles. Patel finished with 11 rebounds to lead the Eagles, while Halaby finished with a team-high 7 assists.

Oxford will face West Georgia again on February 6th at Oaks Mountain Academy in Carrolton, Georgia. The Eagles must win this game in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The next time the Eagles return to the court will be on Tuesday, January 29th against Southern Wesleyan University Reserve Squad. This game will be away and is scheduled for an 8:00 PM tipoff.
