JJ Halaby Earns NJCAA Honors

Emory Oxford freshman JJ Halaby of the men's basketball team was selected as one of the NJCAA Honorable Mention All-Americans.

The 5-foot-9 point guard led the Eagles to a 20-8 record, while averaging team-highs in point-per-game (25.9), assists-per-game (5.3), and steals-per-game (2.2). His 5.3 rebound average was third best on the team. Halaby started in 27 out of the 28 games.

Halaby was also named GCAA Conference Player of the Year in March after setting school records for most points in a single season (724), most free-throw attempts in a single season (291), and most free-throws made in a single season (244). Halaby is also the first player to score 700 points in school history.
