Sanford, NC - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team suffered their 2nd-straight lost to the Cougars of Central Carolina Community College. The Eagles were defeated 92-82 and now fall to 2-4 for the season, while the Cougars improve to 4-3.

The Eagles had three players in double figures with freshmen Shane McCravy and Myles Johnson leading the way. McCravy scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Johnson scored 24 points and dished out a team-high 7 assists. Classmate Arturo Varela had a productive night scoring 14 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

The Eagles had difficulty defending the perimeter as they gave up 13 threes, including 7 from Central's Rodney Alston.

"Tonight, we had a better offensive showing but could not defend on the other end," commented Assistant Head Coach Tim Terry.
