Men's Basketball Loses To Oglethorpe

Oxford, GA - After an 11-day break, the Emory Oxford men's basketball team returned to action against Oglethorpe University Reserve Squad on Wednesday night. The Eagles loss 85-79 and drop to 3-6 for the season.

The Eagles had four players in double figues and were led by freshman Shane McCravy who had 24 points and 7 rebounds. Sophomore Aaron Gerber had a career-high 18 points including 5-of-11 from three. Gerber also had a team-high 5 assist. Freshman Arturo Varela had 16 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Varela finished 3-of-3 from behind the arc, all coming in the second-half. Fellow freshman Jack Polzin scored 13 points to round out the night for the Eagles. 

"There was a lot of good things that we could take from this game and there was also a lot of bad things as well," commented Head Coach Roderick Stubbs. "We have to learn from those bad things and move forward."

The Eagles will return to action on Friday (Dec. 6) against New Rock Prep Academy. Tipoff is at 7:30PM.
