Eagles Produce Best performance of Season

A frantic opening 20 minutes saw both sides score twice to head into halftime tied.

Salkahatchie struck first in the opening minutes of the game, only for it to be leveled moments later as Victor Owiredu was sent clear to goal by Chris Schwaiger. Henry Fink then produced one of the moments of the season as he collected the ball 35 yards out and struck a dipping shot over the head of the keeper to give Oxford a well-deserved lead.

Salkahatchie were not to be outdone as they drew level again seconds later, after the Eagles were unable to clear a cross-field ball. The game then settled into a fairly even contest as both sides searched for the win. The decisive moment eventually fell Oxford's way after a strong effort by Victor Owiredu which passed the ball to the far post to be scored by freshman Garrett Scharff.

The Eagles hope to carry this form into their Sophomore night game against All-In FC of Snellville on October 20th at Bivings Field.
