Men’s Soccer Wins On The Road Against USC Union

The Men's Soccer Team handled The Bantams of USC Union, 5-1, at South Carolina.

Sophomore Garrett Scharff led the way with two goals. Fellow sophomore Thomas Bamforth and freshmen William Ball and Brandon Simon contributed with one goal each.

Scharff put the Eagles on the board by scoring in the 15th minute. The Bantams answered with a goal of their own 4 minutes later to tie the game 1-1. The Eagles were able to reclaim the lead as Scharff scored his second goal of the match in the 31st minute. Ball scored before the first half was over to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead going into halftime.

In the 74th minute, Simon scored his only goal of the match to expand Oxford's lead. Bamforth tallied the final score of the night for the Eagles, as he was able to find the back of the goal in the final minutes of the match.

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, October 2nd to face the Bulldogs of Georgia Military. The game will be held at Milledgeville, GA and kickoff is at 7:00pm.
