Men’s Soccer Concludes Season with Comeback Victory

OXFORD, GA – Two late goals gave the Oxford Men's Soccer team a 2-1 victory over Lagrange College JV this past Sunday.

Goal scorers for the Eagles were freshmen Brandon Simon and Kerri Manoogian

In the first half, the Panthers struck first with a goal in the 9th minute of the game. The Eagles were unable to answer and went into halftime down 1-0.

Things did not look any better in the second half, as the Eagles were held scoreless for the majority of play. Fortunately, Manoogian was able to put the Eagles on the board, as he netted a goal in the 76th minute. Jack Moynihan assisted the goal. This gave the Eagles the energy they needed and in the final minutes of the game, sophomore captain Erich Mildner found Simon who kicked the ball in the back of the net for the game-winning goal.

"I am extremely proud of how hard our boys battled their way back and to finish the season on a great note," stated Head Coach Greg Moss-Brown.

The Eagles finished the season with a 6-9-1 record.
