Men’s Soccer Continues Win Streak

Meridian, MS - The Emory Oxford men's soccer team finished the Rush Invitational with a 2-0 victory over NJCAA Division I opponent, Northwest Mississippi Community College. The Eagles improve to 5-0 while Northwest drops to 1-7.

Unlike their game against Meridian, the Eagles scored all of their goals in the first half. In the 33rd minute, Oxford was able to draw a foul which led to a penalty kick scored by freshman Luke Sims. This was Sims first goal of the year. Before the half ended, freshman Parker Morford received a  pass from sophomore Will Ball and found the back of the net for his third goal of the season.

Sophomore Zack Tuke and freshmen Elijah Arkanum shared the Eagle's third clean sheet of the season.

"Our team competed extremely well this weekend against two tough opponents," stated Head Coach Moss-Brown.

The Eagles will return back home on Tuesday (Sept. 24th) against USC Sumter. This will be their Ovarian Cancer Awareness Game and kickoff is scheduled for 6:45PM.
