Morford's Hat Trick leads Eagles to a Bounce Back Win

Decatur, MS - Freshman Parker Morford had his first-career hat trick along with one assist, to help lead the Emory Oxford men's soccer team to a victory over East Central Community College. The Eagles are now 8-2-1 for the season. 

Morford scored his first goal in the 36th minute with sophomore Chandler Cagle finding him for the assist. Two minutes later, Morford found fellow classmate Ryan Rohling who netted his sixth goal of the season. The Eagles went into halftime with a 2-0 lead. 

In the second half, the Eagles continued to attack when sophomore Brandon Simon scored in the 54th minute. The goal was assisted by Rohling. Morford scored his second goal 12 minutes later with Cagle recording his second assist of the game. With Oxford up 4-0, East Central finally broke free to score their first goal, but the Eagles were able to answer as Morford scored his third goal of the game. The goal was assisted by sophomore captain Jack Moynihan

Sophomore Eduardo Barquet, led the Eagles with 5 saves as a goalkeeper. 

"Our team played brilliant today and Parker was truly incredible," stated Greg Moss-Brown, Head Coach. "It was good for us to go back to Oxford with a win."

The Eagles will be back home in action on Saturday (Oct. 19th) as they faces Athens United FC. This will be the team's sophomore day and kickoff is set for 6:30PM.
