Your Oxford Men's Tennis Team won their first match of the season against Piedmont College with a final score of 5-4.
In singles play, Kevin Yan clinched Oxford's first win of the season in a hard fought 3rd set tiebreaker against his opponent. Julian McCarthy won his match in straight sets with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Orest Los contributed to the Oxford's performance by winning his singles match.
In doubles play, Sophomores Tate Coston and Julian McCarthy posted an 8-3 victory over their opponents. Kavi Jain and Orest Los also posted an 8-3 victory to round up the night for Oxford.
"I am very proud of our players as they played very hard and ended up winning by one match," stated Pernilla Hardin, Head Coach. "It was a great start to the season."
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, September 22nd against Spartanburg Methodist. Play will begin at 1 pm and will be held at Oxford.
