Emory Oxford Men’s Tennis Drops First Match In Spring Play

Hanceville, AL – The Emory Oxford men's tennis team drop their first match of the spring season against Wallace State Community College – Hanceville. The Eagles lost 6-3 against the Lions.

In doubles play, first-year Kevin Yan and sophomore David George won their match 8-6. In singles, sophomore Tate Coston defeated his opponent 6-0, 4-6, 6-3. Yan won his second match of the day defeating his opponent in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

"Our boys competed well today against a tough opponent," stated Head Coach Pernilla Hardin. "We had a couple games that went to three set matches that could have changed the score."

The Eagles will return to action next weekend in Meridian, Mississippi. They will play Jones College on Saturday, February 9th at 9:00AM and then Hinds Community College at 2:00PM the same day. On that Sunday, February 10th, the will play Meridian Community College at 10:00AM.
