Emory Oxford Men’s Tennis Competes Against USC Sumter

Oxford, GA – The Emory Oxford men's tennis team had their first home match of the spring season against NJCAA Division I foe USC Sumter. The Eagles lost 8-1.

The lone winner for the Eagles was sophomore captain Julian McCarthy who won 7-5, 2-6, 7-5. The match went the full three sets and took nearly three hours to finish.

"Our guys competed really hard today against a tough opponent and we will continue to get better," stated Head Coach Pernilla Hardin. "And Julian played so smart and showed so much resilience and persistence. He showed us why he is our team captain."

The Eagles will return to action Monday (Feb. 18) against Morehouse College. Matches will begin at 4:00PM.
