Emory Oxford Men’s Tennis Dominates Morehouse

Oxford, GA – The Emory Oxford men's tennis team competed against the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College. The Eagles won in dominating fashion 8-1.

The Eagles swept the doubles competition with freshman Kavi Jain and sophomore Tate Coston winning 8-1 in first doubles. Sophomore David George and freshman Orest Los won 8-2 in second doubles, while sophomore Julian McCarthy and freshman John Funda won 8-5 in third doubles.

In singles play, the five Eagles that won their matches swept their opponent in straight sets. McCarthy won in first singles 6-1, 6-2. Jain won 6-0, 6-1 in second singles. Coston defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-1 in third singles. Freshman Kevin Yan earned a 6-4, 6-2 decision in fourth singles, and Los won fifth singles 6-4, 6-2.

"Everybody was ready to play today," stated Head Coach Pernilla Hardin. "Overall, it was good afternoon for all the boys and I was really happy with all three doubles teams competing today."

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday (Feb. 23) against Spartanburg Methodist. Matches will begin at 1:00PM.
