Oxford Cross Country Competes in Bobcat Invitational

RESULTS

The Oxford Men's and Women's Cross Country traveled to Milledgeville, GA this weekend to compete in the Bobcat Invitational. The Men's 8K race had a total of 18 teams competing with 162 runners. The Women's 6K race had 19 teams with 141 runners. 

Starting on the Men's side, the winner of the race was Silus Kipkoech (24:09) from NCAA Division II School UNC Pembroke. UNC Pembroke also won the event as a team. Oxford finished 14th with sophomore Alden Aspiras (29:32) leading the way. 

On the Women's side, the winner of the race was Justine Glass (21:54) from NCAA Division II School Montevallo. However, NCAA Division I Florida State won the event as a team. Oxford finished 9th  as a team. Freshman Emily Elder ran the race in 23:20 earning a spot in the top 15 and also leading the Eagles. 

Both the Men and Women's Team will compete in the NJCAA National Championships on Saturday, November 3rd. The event will take place in Holyoke, Massachusetts. 

Oxford has six men and six women qualified to compete at Nationals. They are as listed:
