Oxford Women’s Soccer Clinches 3rd straight win

Your Eagles won against the Tigers of Andrew College with a score of 3-1. They were led by Freshman Quinn Paulus with 2 goals while Tejan Singh added 1 goal.

In the first half, the Tigers had a chance to go up early but goalkeeper Rachel Nichols came up with a fantastic save. About midway into the half, Paulus kicked the ball into the corner of the goal giving the Eagles the lead. The Tigers answered with a goal of their own tying the game 1-1. Sophomore Hunter Alspaugh had an opportunity to reclaim the lead for the Eagles with a free kick, but the Tigers were able to come up with the save.

In the second half, things got better for the Eagles. Within the first 5 minutes, Paulus scored her second goal of the match by kicking the ball over the goalkeeper's hands. Throughout the rest of the game, the Eagles played great defense not allowing the Tigers a chance to score. Later in the half, Paulus had the opportunity to score her third goal of the match and to get her 2nd hat trick of the season, but the Tigers were able to come up with the save. Singh scored her lone goal of the match in the final minutes of the game to secure the victory for the Eagles.

The Eagles will be traveling to South Carolina on Saturday to face Spartanburg Methodist. Kickoff will be at 2:00 pm.
