The Oxford Women's Soccer Team traveled to Barnesville, GA to face Division I powerhouse Gordon State College. The Eagles were defeated 2-0.
Things did not start off well for the Eagles, as Gordon State scored within the first 2 minutes of the match. It did not get better as the Highlanders were able to net their second goal in the 25th minute.
The Eagles tried to battle back, but the Highlander's defense was too strong. Gordon State outshot Oxford 9-1. This is only 3rd time that Eagles have been shutout this season.
The Eagles will look to recover as they face the Bulldogs of Georgia Military College this Tuesday, October 16th. Kickoff will be at 6:45 PM at Bivings Field.
