#8 Howard Defeats Women’s Soccer 2-0

Arnold, MD – The Emory Oxford women's soccer team ended their season in the District Finals to a familiar foe in No.-8 ranked Howard Community College losing 2-0. The Eagles finished the season 7-5.

Much of the game was a back-and-forth battle with neither side gaining the advantage. With the game tied 0-0, Howard drew a foul in the box in the 77th minute, which resulted in a penalty kick. Madalyn Nichols stepped up and netted her 29th goal of the year. This goal seem to uplift Howard as they found the back of the net for the second time 2 minutes late. By then, Howard was up 2-0 and the Eagles could not answer back.

Freshmen Brianna ChunWilla Demasi, and Ellen Harnisch along with sophomore Alejandra Medina-Reyes was named to the All-Tournament Team.

"I am proud of our girls and the way they competed against a tough team in Howard," stated Interim Head Coach, Harry Kustick. "We had a great year and have a lot to look forward to next year."
