Ellisville, MS - The Emory Oxford women's tennis team faced off against the Bobcats of Jones College early on Saturday and was defeated 6-3. The Eagles drop to 0-2 for the season.
The Eagles won one doubles match with sophomore Cody Lu and freshman Frances Lee defeating their opponent 8-5 in first doubles.
The Eagles picked up two singles matches with Lu winning first singles in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Freshman Allison Park also defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-2 to win second singles.
"It was a great effort all around from our team," stated Head Coach Pernilla Hardin. "It was great for Cody to pick up her first wins at number one singles and for Frances and Allison to pick up their first wins as an Eagle."
The Eagles will continue their matches in Mississippi as they face Meridian Community College on Saturday (Sept. 14) at 3:00PM and then East Central Community College on Sunday (Sept. 15) at 9:00AM.
