Women's Tennis Goes Undefeated In New New Jersey

Pinehill, NJ - After winning all of their matches on their first day New Jersey, the Emory Oxford women's tennis team claimed all of their matches against Northhampton Community College. The Eagles are now 6-3 for the season.

After claiming all of their doubles matches, the Eagles dominated singles play winning 5 out of the 6 matches in straight sets. Sophomore Cody Lu won first singles 6-0, 6-0, while freshman Allison Park also won 6-0, 6-0 in second singles. Classmate Frances Lee claimed a third singles victory 6-2, 6-0. Sophmores June Woo and Jenna Shin claimed victories in fourth and fifth singles with Woo winning 6-1, 6-0 and Shin 6-3, 6-2. In sixth singles, freshman Hailey Kim won the first set 6-3, but dropped the second set 0-6. In third set tiebreaker, she battled to win 10-8 to help keep the Eagles perfect through the weekend.

"Our team was prepared and battled hard throughout the weekend," commented Head Coach Pernilla Hardin. "I am extremely proud of them."

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 19) against Wallace State Community College-Hanceville. Matches begin at 1:00PM.
