Peachtree City, GA – In another dominating performance at Nationals, the Emory Oxford women's tennis team claimed their 5th-straight (6th-overall) National Championship. Oxford totaled 36 points, sixteen more than Northampton, who placed second.

Going into the final day of competition, the Eagles had claimed a spot in all 9 of the finals matches. Sophomore Cody Lu and freshman Frances Lee secured first doubles defeating their opponents from Camden County. Sophomore June Woo and freshman Allison Park claimed second doubles, after outlasting their Northampton opponents. In third doubles, sophomore Jenna Shin and freshman Hailey Kim defeated their Northampton opponents to get the clean sweep in doubles for Oxford.

In singles play, Lu claimed first singles after beating out Rebecca Ballier from Camden County. Lu, who is the Eagle's captain, claimed second singles in last year's tournament. In second singles this year, Park defeated Northampton's Viktoria Swanson. Lee outlasted SUNY Broome's Anika Mott to claim third singles. In a fourth singles matchup between Woo and Alyssa Kapcsos from Northampton, Woo came out victorious. Woo moved up two flights after winning sixth singles last year as a freshman. Shin earned a fifth singles victory after defeating Illinois Valley's Tyler Kroll. To round out the weekend, Kim won sixth singles beating Northampton's Morgan Putvinski.

"Throughout the season, our girls continued to work and get better each day, and now all that hard work has paid off," commented Head Coach Pernilla Hardin, who was named Coach of the Year.

This is the fourth-straight year in which the Eagles have won all 9 flights in the tournament.
