Ashwin Giri CHL Student-Athlete of the Month for October 2021

 

The Center for Healthful Living (C.H.L.) has recognized Ashwin Giri of the men's soccer team as the October Student-Athlete of the Month. This award recognizes a student athlete's commitment to the C.H.L.'s motto: Educate the Mind and Exercise the Body.

Giri is from San Francisco, CA and is pursuing a degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and a minor in Spanish. He is also on the pre-med track. Giri is a first-yer member of the men's soccer team and has been a significant contributor to them making the District Championship game. 

Outside of soccer and the classroom, Giri is involved in the Emory Oxford Community. He is the Junior Treasurer of the M.E.D. Club where he handles the budget for specific events. He assists in the Biology Department as a Biology Lab Preparation Assistant. He serves as the Freshman Liason on Service Committee for the Southern Asian Cultural Association and is an Oxford Neuroscience Student Association member.
