Sophia Lee CHL Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2022

The Center for Healthful Living (C.H.L.) has recognized Sophia Lee of the women's cross country team as the November Student-Athlete of the Month. This award recognizes a student athlete's commitment to the C.H.L.'s motto: Educate the Mind and Exercise the Body.

Lee is from Mountain View, CA and is pursuing a degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. She is a two-year member of the women's cross country team and was instrumental in their success these past two years. During this time, Lee has led the team to a 3rd-place finish in the 2022 National Tournament, back-to-back GCAA Regional Championships and a 1st-place finish in the 2021 National Tournament. In 2021, Lee finished in the top 15 during the National Tournament, which helped her earn All-American honors.

Lee is also a champion in the classroom. She was named an NJCAA Academic All-American during her first year and holds one of the highest G.P.A.s on the team. She was one of two Oxford students who received the Bivings Scholarship, one of the C.H.L.'s best honors.

Outside of her academic and athletic responsibilities, Lee is quite active on campus. She is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB), which aims to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image. She serves as the P.R. Chair for the STEMnist Club on campus and is a Supplemental Instructor for Introduction to Neuroethology. Lee has also volunteered in the Mentorship Program for Eastside High School in Covington, GA.

We are proud to recognize the November Student-Athlete of the Month, Sophia Lee.
