Wesley Yamada CHL Student-Athlete of the Month for February 2022

The Center for Healthful Living (C.H.L.) has recognized Wesley Yamada of the men's basketball team as the February Student-Athlete of the Month. This award recognizes a student athlete's commitment to the C.H.L.'s motto: Educate the Mind and Exercise the Body.

Yamada is from Honolulu, HI and is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting/Finance. He is a two-year member of the men's basketball team and was voted a team captain by his teammates this past year. Yamada was an instrumental part of the team's success. He brought energy and his best effort to every game and practice and was highly respected by his teammates. 

Yamada has one of the highest G.P.A.s on the team, with a 3.74. Within the Emory Oxford Community, he is pretty involved. He is a Learning to Lead Instructor for the school, where he facilitates a course on leadership theories and values. He helped prepare 20+ first-year students to become resident assistants, club executive members and orientation leaders. On top of that, he is a member of the Healthy Eagles, a group that promotes health and well-being on campus. Yamada served as a Time Keeper for the Healthy Eagles.
