2017-2018 Men's Soccer Season Preview

2017-2018 Men's Soccer Season Preview

The Oxford College of Emory University Men’s Soccer team begin their regular season competition tonight in an away match against LaGrange College. After finishing last season with a 7-9-1 record, the Eagles look to transition from a team with much more experience going into this season than the previous season.

With 13 second-year players on the roster this season, there will be a plethora of leadership on the field for the nine incoming first-year players on the team. Some second-year players include names such as Victor Owiredu and Chris Schwaiger who combined for 10 of the team’s overall 50 goals last season.

Coach Greg Moss-Brown, who is entering his fourth year as the men’s soccer coach, had this to say about the upcoming season for the men,

“The team this season are looking to play a much more attacking-style game, considering that we have a strong and experienced defensive backfield. The strength of schedule will be very competitive with 10 NJCAA games and an ultimate objective for a birth into the regional tournament in Maryland. If the team meets our expectations for this season we will be more than capable of reaching that objective and more by season’s end.”

Be sure to wish your Men’s Soccer player the best of wishes as they look to have a strong start to the season by achieving a win tonight in LaGrange. Go Eagles!
