Eagles Battle Against Wallace State

Eagles Battle Against Wallace State

The Oxford College men's and women's tennis teams hosted Wallace State Community College over the weekend. The women's team were in preparation mode for the NJCAA National Championships coming up next weekend, while the men's team are preparing for their season in the Spring. The women won 7-2 in the sophomore's last home match. They went out in style winning their singles and doubles matches.

On the men's side, the team won 5-4 with the last match being clinched in a singles battle by our very own Henry Hua. Wins by the top two doubles teams were crucial for the Eagles to achieve that victory.

Coach Pernilla Hardin had this to say about her team's performance, "We had some really good matches today. Caroline, MK, and Sally looked great in their last home matches and the team as a whole looks ready to battle next week at nationals. The men had a great match as well and made some crucial recoveries in order to win today."

The women's team travels to Peachtree City, Georgia on Thursday searching for their third straight national championship. We are excited to cheer on our team towards a three-peat! Go Eagles!
