Emory Oxford Athletics Issues Statement Regarding COVID-19

Emory Oxford Athletics Issues Statement Regarding COVID-19

From Athletic Director, Roderick Stubbs:

"Effective immediately, the Oxford College of Emory University Athletic Department has cancelled all remaining varsity sport competitions and athletically related activities through the remainder of the spring semester. This is in the best interest to protect everyone involved.  We are all disappointed by calling such an early halt to the spring season, especially for our dedicated sophomores, who have sacrificed so much during their two years at Emory Oxford.

Members of the Emory administration have been diligently monitoring and assessing the COVID-19 situation, which has been classified as a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans are of paramount importance to us at Emory Oxford.

As we continue to navigate this challenging and unparalleled time in intercollegiate athletics and our nation, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Our department will continue to provide information as it becomes available."

Spring Break:

Effective immediately, Emory University and Oxford College will extend Spring Break for students until Sunday, March 22. On Monday, March 23, all graduate and undergraduate classes will transition to remote learning.
