Emory Oxford Men's Basketball Drops Game on the Road

Lake City, FL - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team traveled to face the Timberwolves of Florida Gateway College. The Eagles lost 83-63 and dropped to 4-2 for the season. On the other hand, the Timberwolves improved to 2-1.

The Eagles had two players in double figures and were led by sophomore Nick Nist, who scored 18 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Freshman Isaac Snyder scored a season-high 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting.

Emory Oxford struggled during the first half, only shooting 27.3% (6-of-22) from the field. From behind the arc, the Eagles only made three-of-12 while the Timberwolves shot 9-of-28. The Eagles did hold the free-throw advantage shooting 28-of-32, while Florida Gateway only shot 12-of-22.

"We have to start avoiding slow-starts and limit our mistakes," commented Coach Roderick Stubbs. "We have a young team and there will be lots of learning experiences throughout the season."

The Eagles will play again on Tuesday (Nov. 16) against Reinhardt University Reserve Team. The game will begin at 7:00 PM.
