Men's Basketball Claims Third Straight Win

Oxford, GA - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team defeated the Panthers of Birmingham Southern College Reserve Team 89-69 to win their third straight game. With this win, the Eagles improve to 8-9 for the season. 

The Eagles had balanced scoring with four players in double figures. Sophomores Nick Nist and Kabir Bergin and freshman Sean Osei each scored 16 points, while first-year Isaac Snyder scored 12 points. Nist went perfect from the free-throw line, shooting 8-of-8 to go along with six rebounds. Snyder led the team with nine rebounds and Osei dished out a team-high six assists. 

Emory Oxford dominated inside, outscoring the Panthers 52-32 in points in the paint. The Eagles also held a 51-40 rebounding advantage. For the game, the Eagles shot 47.3% (35-of-74) from the field while holding the Panthers to only 38.0% (27-of-71). 

This weekend, the Eagles look to extend their win streak as they will play Dabney S. Lancaster Community College and No. 14 Sandhills Community College. The Eagles will play Dabney on Saturday at noon and Sandhills on Sunday at 1:00 PM. As a reminder, no fans will be allowed at varsity athletic events scheduled to take place on campus this weekend.
