Men's basketball drops conference game to Virginia Peninsula CC

Hampton, Va. - The Emory Oxford men's basketball team lost to home team Virginia Peninsula Community College 87-65 on Saturday afternoon. This was the first conference game of the season for the Eagles.

Both teams kept an even pace to begin the game, trading leads back and forth. Virginia Peninsula pulled away midway through the half and maintained the lead for the rest of the game. The home team led 43-32 at halftime.

Sophomore Zuri Greene led both teams in scoring with 25 points. He had another double-double with 20 rebounds. Freshman Daniel Shin added 16 points for the visitors. Sophomore Anthony Vargas scored 10 points and had six rebounds.

The Eagles will next travel to take on Camp Community College in another conference matchup on Sunday, Nov. 19. Tipoff is at noon.
