Eagles Tie USC Salkehatchie

Eagles Tie USC Salkehatchie

Oxford, GA - The Emory Oxford men's soccer team faced off against the Indians of USC Salkehatchie earlier today. The game ended with neither side scoring a goal. The Eagles are now 0-1-2. Freshman Neils Armbruster came up huge at goalkeeper today, having a career-high ten saves.

The game was pretty a back and forth battle, with both sides having multiple opportunities to score. The Eagles looked like they would have the advantage in the second half after one of the Salkehatchie players picked up a red card. However, a few minutes later, one of the Eagles picked up their second yellow card and was also removed from the game. In the final minutes of the games, the Eagles had a chance to break the deadlock when sophomore Luke Isler had a shot but did not have the proper angle. The game ended 0-0.

"Our guys competed hard today and our first-year goalie came up big with some key saves," mentioned Coach Moss-Brown.

The Eagles will be back in action on Monday, September 20th, as they take on USC Lancaster at home. The game will begin at 6:00 PM.
