2023 Men's Soccer Season Preview

2023 Men's Soccer Season Preview

OXFORD, GA - The Emory Oxford College men's soccer team, is set to begin the 2023 season on Friday, August 25th with a road matchup against Jones College the 5th ranked team in NJCAA Division II. The men's soccer team is looking forward to an exciting year as they embark on a new chapter in the colleges history. The team has moved from NJCAA Division III to Division II.

The Eagles have certainly accomplished top accolades in the classroom, as they were honored for the 4th year in a row as the Academic Team of the Year for Men's Soccer.

This year Eagles have a mix of veteran experience and talented youth that will be a significant strength.

The team is captained by two veteran sophomores, Ian Klenk and Will Farthing. Sophomore Haensel Kehoe is a forward and all three are looking to put a lot of pressure on other team defenses.

Our incoming freshman class looks very strong and will add a lot of depth to the team as many of them will start right away.

Freshman, goalkeeper, Chris Do, along with defenders Heath Dunlop and Andrey Kosygin will anchor the defense while freshman Nathaniel Green, Brody Weinfurtner and Denis Tahirovic will provide speed and excitement from the flanks.

We look forward to seeing lots of magic going forward from freshman Evan Crozier and Onemerhomu Erakpotobor.

The Eagles have a very tough schedule with three teams ranked in the preseason top 20.

"We welcome the challenge of facing stronger opponents that will continue to make us better now that we are in division two," commented Coach Gregory Moss-Brown. "It is our ultimate goal and objective for the season to finish strong; while, making it to the GCAA Regional Finals."
