Dominant Second Half Propels Eagle’s Men to Victory over GMC Reserve Bulldogs 6 to 1

A second half barrage lifted the Emory Oxford men's soccer team (2-3) over the Georgia Military College Reserve Squad 6 to 1 Thursday night. This is the 2nd straight victory for the Eagles.

In a very physical match, the Eagles got on board early to take a 1 to 0 lead on a made penalty kick by Gerald Kong at the 11:00 mark. The Bulldogs quickly countered at the 18:00 mark to even the score at 1, which was the score at halftime.

The Eagles blew the game upon with 5 goals in the second half.

Oyob Gebru in his first collegiate game was extremely impressive, scoring two goals at the 52 and 74-minute mark. Ian Klenk and Noah Hamer assisted on his goals. Jisung Yoon scored at the 70-minute mark. Haensel Kehoe scored at the 82 – minute mark on an assist by Kharat Kalra and Bharat Kalra finished the game scoring at the 88 – minute mark assisted by Nemjay Erakpotobar.

The Eagles defense was exceptional anchored by goal keeper Chris Do. The Bulldogs had only 5 shots on goal compared to 11 shot on goals by the Eagles.

Emory Oxford faces conference opponent Andrew College on Sunday, September 17th in Cuthbert, GA.  Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
