Men's soccer dominates in 9-1 win over Fisk University

Oxford, Ga. - The Emory Oxford men's soccer team dominated visiting Fisk University en route to a 9-1 win on sophomore night.

Sophomore Minghan Cui started the scoring early in the first half. Sophomore Ian Klenk assisted on the goal. Soon after, the Bulldogs tied the game. The game then shifted and became all Eagles.

Sophomore Eyob Gebru broke the tie with an assist coming from sophomore Haensel Kehoe. Gebru later assisted on a goal from sophomore Jisung Yoon to put Emory Oxford up 3-1 at the half. 

In the six-goal second half, sophomore Will Farthing scored about six minutes in on another assist by Gebru. Sophomore Ian Klenk scored twice within ten minutes to cushion Emory Oxford's lead. Kehoe assisted on the first goal and Yoon assisted on the second.

The Eagles scored three times in the final 15 minutes. Sophomore Noah Hamer scored on a penalty kick, while sophomore Elyes Mezghanni scored an unassisted goal six minutes later.

The final goal came off of sophomore Asher Owusu on a penalty kick with a minute left in the game.

Emory Oxford now sits at 5-7-1.

Sophomore Bharat Kalra made two saves in the win.

The Eagles next face Georgia Military College. Kickoff is 6:45 p.m. at Bivings Field.
