Eagles Dominate Gadsden State

Gadsden, AL – The Emory Oxford men's tennis traveled to Alabama to play in their first match since March 2nd. The Eagles defeated Gadsden State Community College 8-1.

In first doubles, sophomore captain Julian McCarthy and freshman Kevin Yan defeated their opponents in a hard fought match 8-6. Freshman Kavi Jain and sophomore Tate Coston won second doubles 8-2. Freshman Orest Los and sophomore David George beat their opponents to win third doubles 8-2.

In singles play, the Eagles won 5 matches all in straight sets. McCarthy won 6-2, 6-0 in first singles. Jain easily won second singles 6-0, 6-0. Coston defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-3 to win third singles. Yan won fourth doubles 6-4, 6-2, while Los won fifth doubles 6-3, 6-1.

"The boys competed well especially with having some time off with spring break," stated Head Coach Pernilla Hardin.

The Eagles will be back in action next Saturday (Mar. 30) in Spartanburg, South Carolina. They will be facing Spartanburg Methodist and matches are set to begin at 1:00PM.
