Men's Tennis Picks Up Second Win In Mississippi

Meridian, MS - The Emory Oxford men's tennis team picked up their second win of the season against Meridian Community College earlier today. The Eagles won 6-3 and are now 2-2 for the season. 

Oxford picked up two wins in doubles with sophomore Kevin Yan and freshman Michael Ru winning second doubles 8-5. In third singles, freshman duo Colin Xu and Jeremy Cai won 8-2. 

In singles play, Ru picked up a third singles victory winning 6-3, 6-2. Freshman Bryce Guenther claimed fourth singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Cai defeated his opponent to win 6-4, 6-2 in fifth singles and Xu won sixth singles 6-1, 6-0. 

"Everyone came out and competed hard in today's matches. I am very proud of our team effort!" commented Head Coach Pernilla Hardin. 

The Eagles will have their first home match of the season on Saturday (Feb. 15) against Emmanuel College. Matches begin at 3:00PM.
