Oxford, GA - The Emory Oxford men's tennis team opened their fall season with a victory against the Lions of Piedmont University. The Eagles won 6-3.

In doubles play, the Eagles won two of their three matches. Freshmen Jahaan Sachdeva and Zachary Ravel claimed an 8-4 victory in second doubles. Classmates Stephen Orr and Mark Li won third doubles 8-4. 

In the singles, the Eagles claimed four out of the six matches. Li claimed the first victory in fifth singles, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore Frank Lu defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-4 in third singles. Ravel, who played in first singles, also won in straight sets 7-5, 7-5. Orr claimed the Eagles' final victory in sixth singles with a score of 6-4, 6-0. 

"Our guys competed well today against a tough opponent," commented Pernilla Hardin, Head Coach. 

The men's tennis team will face the Lions again on Sunday, September 26th. Matches will begin at 2:00 PM.
