Men's Tennis Defeat Piedmont University

Oxford, GA - The Emory Oxford men's tennis team competed against the Lions of Piedmont University for the second straight week and won 7-2. This is their second straight win of the fall season. 

The Eagles earned their first point on court two when freshman duo Zachary Ravel and Jahaan Sachdeva defeated their opponents 8-3. On court one, sophomore Frank Lu teamed with freshman Tyler Yamato-Chang to win 8-5. The Eagles had a chance to sweep doubles play with a win on court three, but the Eagles fell short 7-9. 

In singles play, the Eagles swept five out of the six matches in straight sets, starting with a win on court five when freshman Stephen Orr defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-2. The Eagles earned their fourth point with Sachdeva claiming a fourth singles win 6-2, 6-2. On court three, the Eagles clinched the victory of the Lions when Yamato-Chang won 6-3, 6-1. Ravel won on court one 6-4, 6-4 and freshman Mark Li won on court six 6-1, 7-5. 

"Our boys played well today against a good team," said Coach Hardin. 

The Eagles will return action on Saturday, October 2nd, against Emmanuel College. Matches will begin at 2:00 PM.
