Men’s Cross Country Claims the GCAA Championship

After finishing second place last year, the Emory Oxford men's cross country team claimed the top spot in the 2022 Men's GCAA Regional Championship. The Eagles secured the top four spots in the 8k race held at Council Farms in Milledgeville, GA. 

Freshman Timothy Park finished at the top spot with a time of 28:08. He was also named Men's Runner of the Year for the conference. In second place, sophomore Alex Lucas ran a 29:16, with freshman Jacob Hillman finishing right behind him at 29:18. Sophomore Darren Ni finished in fourth place with a time of 29:31. These four runners were also named to the All-Conference team. 

To round out the race for the Eagles, in eighth place, sophomore Andrew Johnson crossed the finish line at 31:48. The final finishers for Oxford were:

Coach Tony O'Kelley was named GCAA Coach of the Year. 

Up next, the Eagles will be competing in the Newberry Invitational in South Carolina. The meet will be this Saturday, October 22nd.
