NATIONAL CHAMPS!!! Women’s Golf Claims First-Ever National Title in Program History

Chautauqua, NY - The Oxford College of Emory University women's golf team has won the 2023 NJCAA DIII Women's Golf National Championship. This is the first-ever national title in the program's short history. The championship was held at Chautauqua Golf Club, a par-74, 5415-yard course in New York. 

The Eagles were led by sophomore Julia Bazata, who shot a four-round total of 346 (84-90-83-89). She finished in 6th place, earning her a First Team All-American selection. Bazata was also a First Team All-American in last year's tournament. 

Finishing in the top 10 was freshman Purvi Aiyer, who improved her score in each round, shot a total score of 388 (102-99-96-91). Fellow freshmen Callie Goins (403) and Melody Wang (409) finished in the top 15 to round out the scoring for the Eagles. Aiyer, Goins and Wang were all named as All-Americans. 

Interim Head Coach Martin Maher was named Coach of the Tournament.
