Women’s Soccer wins home opener with a thrilling 3 to 2 Victory

The Oxford College Women's Soccer team won their 2018 home opener in exciting fashion defeating South Georgia State College 3 to 2.

The Eagles got off to a fast start scoring in the 17th minute, when sophomore Nadia Dixon scored on a nice assist by Quinn Paulus.  They scored again late in the first half on an unassisted goal by Alex Klimek to take a 2 to 0 halftime lead. 

South Georgia State fought back into the game with two uncontested goals and it looked like the match was going into overtime. However, the Eagles continue to press the issue and scored on a Sade Hanciles goal at the 88 minute mark assisted by Tejan Singh and Frankie Moore.

The win evened the Eagles record at 1 and 1 on the year.

Oxford next plays at home on Labor Day versus Motlow State.  Game time is scheduled for noon.
