Oxford Women’s Soccer Posts 2-0 Victory over Motlow State

The Oxford/Emory Women's Soccer team posted its first shutout defeating Motlow State Community College, 2-0, Monday afternoon.  The win completed a successful weekend, as the Eagles hosted their Labor Day Weekend Classic.

Freshman Frankie Moore and Quinn Paulus provided all the scoring that was needed for the Eagles in the contest.  The Eagles scored in the first three minutes on a goal by Frankie Moore and Quinn Paulus scored on a long goal at the 69 minute mark to give the Eagles some cushion.

However, multiple fantastic stops by goalie Rachel Nichols was the difference in the match.  Motlow continued to fire away in the 2nd half but could not find the back of the net due to the defensive effort of the Eagles.

Emory returns to action this weekend as they travel to Wilmington, NC to play Howard Community College and Cape Fears Community College.
