Women's Soccer Dominates on Sophomore Night

Oxford, GA - On sophomore night, the Emory Oxford women's soccer team defeated the Barons of Brewton Parker College 3-0. The Eagles improve to 6-4 for the season.

The first goal of the game came from freshman Emma Alonso who netted her fifth goal of the year. The Eagles went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. 

In the second half, the Eagles were able to draw a penalty in the box, which lead to a penalty kick for sophomore Alejandra Medina-Reyes. This ended up being her second goal of the season. In the 52nd minute, the Eagles had a handball in the box, resulting in a penalty kick for the Barons. However, freshman goalie Brianna Chun came up with a huge save to keep the clean sheet, her fourth of the year. The final goal of the match came from freshman Laurel Ivanoski who also scored her second goal of the year.

"This was a good bounce back win for us tonight and big momentum booster as we prepare for Districts," stated Interim Head Coach Harry Kustick. "It was also good for us to win on a special night for our sophmores."

The Eagles will have a two-week hiatus before comepting again in the District Playoffs. More information on that will be released in a later date.
